A fresh security scare has gripped the national capital after a social media post allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate surfaced online, claiming responsibility for a firing incident outside a gym in West Delhi and linking the attack to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
The development has intensified concerns among law enforcement agencies already monitoring the activities of the notorious gang, which has repeatedly been associated with extortion threats, targeted violence, and high-profile intimidation campaigns across India and abroad.
According to Delhi Police, a firing incident was reported on Thursday morning near the “24 HS Fitness” gym located in Pushkar Enclave, Paschim Vihar. Authorities received a PCR call alerting them to gunshots fired at the premises. Preliminary investigations revealed that two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle, their faces covered with cloth, and fired several rounds at the glass facade of the fitness center before fleeing the scene.
Police officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. While the attack caused damage to the property, no gym staff, visitors, or passersby were harmed. Security personnel and local police teams quickly reached the location and began collecting evidence, including CCTV footage and forensic material from the crime scene.
What has made the case particularly alarming is a viral social media post that emerged shortly after the shooting. Uploaded under the profile name “Anil Pandit,” the message claims that the attack was carried out jointly by “Anil Pandit USA” and the Lawrence Bishnoi Group. The post directly references Bollywood actor Salman Khan and alleges that the gym was targeted because of its owner’s or associate’s proximity to the actor.
In the message, the individual behind the account claimed that warnings had previously been issued to maintain distance from Salman Khan, whom the gang has repeatedly described as an enemy. The post further stated that those who ignore such warnings would face consequences, while also issuing broader threats against individuals accused of betraying or conspiring against the country.
The language used in the post has drawn immediate attention from investigators because it mirrors the style of previous threats allegedly issued by individuals linked to the Bishnoi network. The message reportedly concludes with references to several gangsters and affiliated criminal groups believed to have operational links across different regions of India and foreign countries.
Delhi Police have not yet verified the authenticity of the post. Cybercrime specialists and intelligence agencies are now working to determine whether the account is genuinely connected to the Bishnoi syndicate or whether it was created to exploit the gang’s notoriety. Officials are tracing the digital footprint of the account and examining the origin of the message, including any possible foreign connections.
Investigators are treating both the shooting and the online claim as part of the same probe. Multiple teams have been constituted to identify the gunmen, analyze surveillance footage, trace the motorcycle used in the attack, and establish whether the social media account has any direct connection to the perpetrators.
The incident once again places the spotlight on the growing influence of organized crime networks that increasingly use social media as a tool for psychological intimidation. In recent years, criminal groups linked to Lawrence Bishnoi have frequently used digital platforms to issue threats, claim responsibility for attacks, and project influence far beyond traditional gang territories.
Law enforcement agencies have repeatedly expressed concern over the international dimensions of such networks. Several investigations have pointed to operatives and associates allegedly working from countries including Canada and the United States, allowing criminal groups to maintain communication channels and spread threatening messages while remaining physically distant from the scenes of crimes.
The mention of Salman Khan in the latest threat is also significant given the long-running hostility between the actor and individuals associated with the Bishnoi gang. Security around the actor has been strengthened multiple times over the past few years following repeated threats and alleged plots linked to the syndicate. Any fresh reference to Khan in a criminal threat is therefore likely to attract heightened scrutiny from both police and intelligence agencies.

While the shooting itself did not result in casualties, the broader implications of a public threat linked to a notorious gang have elevated the seriousness of the investigation.
As forensic teams analyze evidence and cyber experts examine the viral post, authorities are racing to identify those responsible and determine whether the attack was a targeted warning, a gang-linked operation, or an attempt to create fear through the use of a well-known criminal brand. Until those questions are answered, security agencies remain on alert and the investigation continues at multiple levels.
