Anugraha S Nambiar Accuses Resort Makers of Exploitation, Shares Emotional Allegations Against Vijay Kumar

Actor Anugraha S. Nambiar has sparked a major controversy in the Tamil digital entertainment industry after sharing a deeply emotional video on Instagram. In the video, the young actor accused the makers of the Tamil web series Resort, which streams on JioHotstar, of trapping her in a restrictive contract and leaving her without work or payment for months.

Nambiar, who is still trying to establish herself in the industry, alleged that she signed a one-year exclusive agreement with the production team of the series. According to her, the contract prevented her from accepting other acting projects, yet the production house failed to provide regular work or financial compensation.

In the video, she explained that filming for the series has not taken place for nearly four months. Despite the halt in production, she said the contract was used to block her from taking other professional opportunities. The situation, she claims, cost her an important project with the same streaming platform.

“I even lost another project with JioHotstar because they asked me to block my dates for Resort. They promised me a strong role, but instead I was left with nothing,” she said.

The actor also made serious allegations against actor and content creator Vijay Kumar Rajendran, who is widely known for his popular YouTube brand Eruma Saani. Nambiar claimed that when her health problems were reported to him, his response was dismissive. According to her account, he allegedly told a friend that she did not need to return to the series.

Adding to the controversy, Nambiar also accused Vijay Kumar’s wife, Nakshatra Murthy, of making a derogatory remark about her while she was hospitalized. The actor said Nakshatra reportedly sent a voice message to a friend suggesting that they should “either marry her or tell her to come and act,” a statement Nambiar described as insulting and humiliating.

Beyond the professional dispute, Nambiar revealed that the situation has had a severe impact on her personal life and health. She said the constant stress and uncertainty triggered epileptic seizures and led to a fall that required hospitalization. With no payment from the project, she also claimed she has been struggling financially.

The actor shared that she comes from a small village in Kerala and entered the entertainment industry with big dreams. However, the current situation has left her feeling exploited and helpless. In her video, she urged industry professionals not to take advantage of newcomers who are still trying to find their footing.

“Please don’t use dreamers and beginners like this,” she said, addressing those in positions of power in the industry.

Nambiar also admitted that she cannot afford to pursue a legal battle against the production team. Because of this, she said social media has become her only platform to share her story and seek justice.

Her video has since started circulating widely online, sparking conversations about the challenges faced by newcomers in the rapidly expanding OTT entertainment space. Many social media users have expressed sympathy for the actor and called for greater transparency and fairness in contracts offered to aspiring artists.

So far, neither Vijay Kumar Rajendran nor the makers of Resort have publicly responded to the allegations. As the video continues to gain attention, the controversy is expected to trigger broader discussions about contractual practices and the treatment of emerging talent in the digital streaming industry.
