Ballia Pankaj Gupta Murder Case: A disturbing case of love, betrayal, and revenge has emerged from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, sending shockwaves across the region. What initially appeared to be an unidentified body found in a village has now turned into a sensational murder investigation involving a married woman, her husband, and several accomplices.
The incident took place in Lohata village under the jurisdiction of Rasra police station. On February 10, villagers alerted authorities after spotting a partially burned body. The corpse had reportedly been damaged with acid, making identification extremely difficult. As police began their probe, technical surveillance and local intelligence gradually uncovered a chilling backstory. According to investigators, a married woman named Rekha had been in a relationship with Pankaj before her marriage. Even after her wedding, Pankaj allegedly continued contacting her and is accused of blackmailing her. Troubled by the alleged harassment, Rekha confided in her husband, Arun Soni.
Instead of filing a complaint with the police, the couple allegedly decided to confront the issue themselves. Police claim Rekha lured Pankaj to a secluded location under the pretext of a private meeting. Unaware of the trap, he reportedly arrived at the spot where Arun Soni and his associates were already waiting.
Investigators allege that Pankaj was attacked and killed at the location. In an attempt to erase all traces of the crime, the accused allegedly used acid to burn the body before disposing of it. The brutality of the act has stunned residents and investigators alike.
During the investigation, call detail records and interrogation of suspects played a key role in cracking the case. Police have arrested Vijay Pal, Manish, and Anjani in connection with the murder. However, Rekha and her husband Arun Soni are currently absconding, and search operations are underway to trace their whereabouts. Authorities say multiple teams have been formed to ensure their swift arrest.
