Shivam Sahu Viral MMS Case: Husband Arrested Over Dowry Harassment and 13-Minute Video Leak

Shivam Sahu Viral MMS Case: A deeply disturbing case has come to light from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where a husband has been arrested for allegedly recording and circulating a private video of his wife after she refused to fulfill his dowry demands. The accused reportedly claimed that he wanted to “become famous,” a statement that has shocked both investigators and the local community.

According to police sources, the victim got married on May 10, 2025. Soon after the wedding, her husband, identified as Shivam Sahu from the Jhula area, allegedly began pressuring her and her family for additional dowry. At the time of marriage, ₹3 lakh was reportedly demanded. While ₹2 lakh was paid, the remaining amount became a constant source of conflict.

When the victim’s family expressed their inability to arrange the remaining money due to financial constraints, the harassment allegedly intensified. The woman stated in her complaint that her husband repeatedly threatened to defame her if the money was not paid.

In December last year, the accused allegedly recorded a 13-minute and 14-second private video of his wife inside their bedroom. When she objected to being filmed, he reportedly ignored her protests. Investigators later revealed that he shared the explicit video on social media platforms and even forwarded it to relatives, causing severe emotional distress to the victim.

During police interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted that he circulated the video intentionally, claiming he wanted recognition and popularity. Officials also disclosed that he had a habit of watching obscene websites, and the act was carried out without any remorse.

The mobile phone used to record and distribute the video has not yet been recovered. The accused has claimed that the device was stolen, but police are verifying his statement and continuing their digital investigation.

The victim’s brother informed authorities that the accused frequently pressured the family for the remaining dowry amount and even attempted to force his sister out of the house. Following the circulation of the video, the woman approached the local police station and lodged a formal complaint. A case was registered under relevant sections related to dowry harassment and cyber offenses.

On Tuesday, police presented the accused before the court, which subsequently sent him to judicial custody. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are working to gather additional digital evidence.

This case once again highlights the alarming misuse of technology in personal relationships and the persistent issue of dowry-related abuse. Law enforcement officials have urged citizens not to share or circulate such sensitive material and to report incidents of harassment immediately.
