Rajpal Yadav stepped out of Tihar Jail on Tuesday evening after the Delhi High Court granted him interim suspension of his six-month sentence in cheque bounce cases. The actor walked out around 4:50 pm after completing all necessary formalities, bringing temporary relief in a legal battle that has drawn public attention.

The relief came from the Delhi High Court, where Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma ordered an interim suspension of the sentence after noting that Yadav had deposited Rs 1.5 crore with the complainant, M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd. The court clarified that the suspension will remain in effect until the next date of hearing, which is scheduled for March 18.
While granting the relief, the court imposed strict conditions. Yadav has been directed to surrender his passport and is not allowed to leave the country without prior permission. He must also remain present, either physically or virtually, during the next hearing. The order makes it clear that this is temporary relief and not a final verdict in the matter.
After his release from Tihar Jail, Rajpal Yadav briefly spoke to reporters. He appeared calm and expressed gratitude for the support he has received from across the country. Reflecting on his long career, he said that he will complete 30 years in Bollywood in 2027 and credited the love of audiences for enabling him to work in over 200 films. He emphasized that people from all age groups have stood by him throughout his journey.
The actor also stated that he has always complied with court directions and will continue to do so. He maintained that if there are any allegations against him, he is fully prepared to respond in a transparent manner. For detailed legal queries, he suggested speaking with his advocate.
Yadav had sought suspension of his sentence citing a family wedding scheduled for February 19. The court considered the submission while granting interim relief. However, legal observers point out that the case remains under judicial review, and the final outcome will depend on the upcoming proceedings.
For now, Rajpal Yadav remains out on interim suspension, awaiting the March 18 hearing. The development offers him temporary respite, but the legal process is far from over.
