Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was rushed to Fortis Hospital Mohali on Saturday afternoon after his blood pressure reportedly shot up during a series of public engagements. The sudden health scare created concern within political circles and among supporters across the state.

Sources said the Chief Minister was in Dhuri when he began feeling unwell. He had earlier attended Mahashivratri events in Sangrur and was actively participating in public programs. Shortly after concluding the religious engagements, he experienced discomfort. Those present immediately sensed that something was not right.
Mann was accompanied by Arvind Kejriwal at the time. Both leaders left for Chandigarh soon after the event as a precautionary step. Arrangements were made for immediate medical examination at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. The Chief Minister reportedly reached the hospital around 3:20 PM, where a team of doctors began assessing his condition without delay.
Hospital sources indicated that specialists were closely monitoring his blood pressure levels. While no official medical bulletin had been released at the time of writing, insiders described the move to hospital as precautionary but necessary.
Mann was scheduled to visit Fazilka later in the day, but the program was cancelled due to his sudden health issue. Officials said the decision was taken to prioritize his well-being. The Chief Minister has maintained a packed schedule in recent weeks, attending political meetings, public functions, and administrative reviews across Punjab.
The news spread quickly, prompting supporters to gather outside the hospital premises. Leaders from various political parties expressed concern and wished him a speedy recovery. Given the demanding nature of his schedule, observers believe fatigue and continuous engagements may have contributed to the sudden spike in blood pressure.
Doctors at Fortis Mohali are expected to conduct further tests to determine the exact cause and ensure his condition stabilizes fully. An official statement from the Chief Minister’s office is anticipated later in the evening.
For now, officials have reassured the public that he is under expert medical supervision and there is no immediate cause for panic.
