A newly organised women theft gang has reportedly entered Bengaluru and is targeting apartment complexes using calculated distraction tactics and teamwork. In a recent incident, six women allegedly stole cash and gold ornaments from an apartment in the Yeshwanthpur area by posing as artificial jewellery sellers.

The theft occurred at Golden Apartment in Yeshwanthpur. According to residents, the group arrived together during the day and claimed they were selling artificial jewellery designed in the North Karnataka style. Their approach appeared harmless and business-oriented, making their presence seem routine rather than suspicious.
When the six women reached the apartment entrance, the security guard refused to allow all of them inside at once. At that point, four of the women remained near the gate and began engaging the guard in conversation. They continued speaking with him deliberately, creating a distraction that appeared casual but was clearly strategic.
Meanwhile, the remaining two women quietly entered the apartment complex, taking advantage of the diverted attention. Once inside, they reportedly moved swiftly toward a ground-floor residence. Within a short span of time, they allegedly stole ₹40,000 in cash along with gold ornaments from the house.
Residents believe the act was carefully planned and executed with precision. The women avoided confrontation, completed the theft quickly, and ensured they did not raise immediate suspicion.
After completing the act, the two women exited the building and regrouped with the other four at the entrance. The entire gang then left the premises together before anyone realised what had happened.
The theft came to light later when residents discovered the missing cash and jewellery and alerted authorities. CCTV cameras installed within the apartment complex have clearly recorded the movements of the group, capturing how they distracted security and entered the premises. Police are currently examining the footage to identify the accused and trace their movements across the city.
Law enforcement officials have issued a warning to apartment residents and security personnel to remain vigilant. They have advised against allowing unknown individuals into residential complexes without proper verification, especially those claiming to sell goods or offer services.
Investigators are exploring whether the gang may be linked to similar incidents in other parts of Bengaluru. Further investigation is underway as authorities work to track down the suspects and prevent similar crimes in residential areas.
