Nayagaon JCB Accident: A tragic accident in Singha Devi Colony, Nayagaon, Mohali, claimed the life of a two-year-old boy on Thursday around noon. The toddler, identified as Adab, was playing on the road when a speeding JCB ran over him. His father, Masood, a migrant labourer from Bihar, was away at work, while his mother was inside their home. The family, which has five children, is now left devastated by the sudden loss.

Eyewitnesses reported that the JCB driver was talking on his phone while operating the vehicle at high speed. Shockingly, after hitting the toddler, the driver fled the scene, ignoring the desperate attempts of locals to stop him. Police arrived promptly after receiving information about the incident and confirmed that the absconding driver has been booked for negligent driving and culpable homicide at the Nayagaon police station. The vehicle is reportedly owned by Rakesh of Nada village, and the driver has been identified by the authorities, who are now pursuing him.

On the same day, another tragic incident occurred in Eco City-1, New Chandigarh, where a 45-year-old labourer, Jatinder Pal, died after an iron shuttering plate fell on him at a construction site. A father of five and a native of Bihar, Jatinder was rushed to a local doctor but could not survive. Police have initiated an investigation, and his body was shifted to Kharar Subdivisional Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Thursday proved to be a heartbreaking day for Mohali, with two separate accidents claiming lives within hours. Authorities have assured strict investigation and action against those responsible.
