A sense of fear and urgency gripped Mohali on Wednesday morning after several private schools, including Yadavindra Public School (YPS), received bomb threat emails, forcing authorities to evacuate campuses and send students home as a precautionary measure.

According to officials, the threatening emails were received during school hours, prompting immediate action by school managements. Teachers and staff swiftly guided students out of classrooms while maintaining calm, and parents were informed without delay. Children were safely handed over to their families, ensuring no chaos during the evacuation process.

The schools affected by the threat emails include YPS Mohali, Learning Paths School, Manav Mangal School, Shivalik Public School, Paragaon Senior Secondary School, and Infinite Jesus School. Following the alerts, bomb disposal squads and anti-sabotage teams were rushed to each campus to conduct detailed security checks.

Police teams thoroughly searched classrooms, administrative blocks, playgrounds, and surrounding areas. Senior officials confirmed that no suspicious objects or explosive materials have been found so far. Despite the all-clear, security has been tightened in and around the schools as a preventive step.

Mohali Police have launched an investigation to trace the source of the emails. Cybercrime units are examining technical details such as IP addresses and email servers to identify those behind the threats. Officials stressed that such incidents are taken seriously, especially when the safety of students is involved.

While the sudden evacuation caused anxiety among parents and students, authorities have urged the public to remain calm. Police assured that the situation is under control and that all necessary safety protocols were followed promptly.
