New Delhi, October 15: A video reportedly showing a lawyer kissing a woman moments before a virtual Delhi High Court proceeding has gone viral across social media platforms, sparking widespread discussion about professional conduct during online court hearings.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday, during a virtual session of the Delhi High Court. The court was not in session at the time — participants were waiting for the judge to arrive — when the camera captured the unexpected moment.
What the Viral Video Shows
The footage shows a lawyer dressed in formal court attire, sitting in his office and waiting for the hearing to begin. A woman in a saree is seen standing close to him. Moments later, the lawyer reaches for her hand and pulls her closer.
Despite her apparent hesitation, the lawyer proceeds to give her a brief kiss before she steps back. The act, caught live on camera, was reportedly visible to other participants logged into the virtual court meeting.
The video clip quickly spread online, amassing over 89,000 views within two hours of its first posting. The identities of both the lawyer and the woman remain unconfirmed as of now.

Supreme Court lawyer Shashank Shekhar Jha reshared the clip on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Delhi High Court.”

Another advocate, Kumar Deepraj, clarified that the individual in the video was not a judge, writing:
“He is not a judge. He seems to be an advocate. This is the Court of Justice Jyoti Singh, Delhi High Court, and the court was not in session.”
Meanwhile, a third user quipped sarcastically, “Would have surely got promoted after this,” reflecting the mix of humor and criticism circulating online.
Past Incidents of Virtual Court Misconduct
This is not the first time a virtual court proceeding has made headlines for unexpected behavior.
In June 2024, a man attending Gujarat High Court proceedings via video conferencing while seated on a toilet went viral for all the wrong reasons. The court took strict action, imposing a ₹1 lakh fine and ordering 15 days of community service as punishment.
Authorities Yet to Comment
So far, the Delhi High Court administration has not issued an official statement regarding the viral clip. It remains unclear whether any disciplinary action will follow or if the Bar Council will step in to investigate the matter.
