A Hyderabad couple has been arrested for allegedly live-streaming their sexual acts on a mobile app and charging users for access. Police booked them under the IT Act.
Hyderabad | June 27, 2025 — In a deeply disturbing case that has shocked the city, a Hyderabad-based couple has been arrested for allegedly broadcasting their private sexual acts via a mobile application in exchange for money. According to officials, the couple shared paid access links to live-streamed content, exploiting the digital space to earn what they called “easy money.”

The incident came to light after cybercrime officials received a tip-off about suspicious activity on a lesser-known adult streaming app. Upon investigation, police discovered that the husband (41), who works as a car driver, and his wife (37), had been regularly engaging in explicit live sessions. The couple reportedly used face masks to hide their identities during the broadcasts.
Paid Access for Explicit Content
Sources within the Hyderabad Police Department revealed that the couple monetized their sexual acts by offering exclusive access to viewers willing to pay. After collecting money from users, they would share private links, enabling access to their live sessions. The couple allegedly operated independently, without any links to larger pornographic networks.
“They were not part of any organized crime or adult content ring. They initiated this on their own, believing it was a quick way to make money. It is a clear violation of cyber laws and moral codes,” an investigating officer stated.
Arrest and Charges
Based on digital evidence and testimonies, law enforcement officers arrested the couple under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. A case has been registered, and devices used for live streaming have been seized for forensic examination.
The couple has confessed during preliminary questioning, citing financial stress and the lure of easy income as their primary motivations.
A Growing Concern in the Digital Age
This case highlights a growing concern around the misuse of digital platforms for explicit and unlawful purposes. With mobile apps and payment gateways becoming increasingly accessible, cybercrime officials warn that more such activities may be operating under the radar.
“The anonymity offered by apps and the ease of digital payments are making it easier for people to cross legal boundaries without realizing the consequences. But the law is clear—any form of pornography, especially when broadcasted for money, is punishable,” added the officer.
Awareness and Legal Action
Authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious online content or activity. Parents are also being advised to monitor app usage and internet behavior, especially among younger family members, to prevent misuse of technology.
The Hyderabad Police Cyber Crime Wing has reiterated its commitment to curbing digital crimes and taking swift action against those violating cyber and decency laws.
