Partial Closure of Chandigarh’ Dakshin Marg Announced Till June 8

As per the official statement, the stretch of Dakshin Marg between Sector 25 and Sector 25 (West) will remain closed on one side for a period of seven days. This temporary measure is part of a broader infrastructure maintenance initiative that seeks to address the deteriorating road surface and enhance the overall driving experience for city residents.

Earlier this month, from May 11 to May 20, another portion of the road—between Sectors 25 and 38 in the direction of Sector 38—was also closed for similar repair work. The current phase continues the department’s systematic approach to revamping major roadways in the city.

Motorists are requested to stay alert and follow diversion signs placed by the traffic police to ease movement and minimize inconvenience. The administration has also appealed to residents for their cooperation and patience during the repair period.

Officials emphasized that the work is being conducted on a priority basis and will be completed within the stipulated time frame, weather permitting. Once completed, the repairs are expected to significantly reduce wear and tear on vehicles and improve the daily commute for thousands of Chandigarh residents.

Regular updates and traffic advisories will be issued to help commuters stay informed about the progress of the work.
