Pahalgam Attack News LIVE

Pahalgam, J&K — April 23, 2025: In one of the deadliest terror strikes since Pulwama 2019, the serene Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam — often called ‘Mini Switzerland’ — turned into a battleground as terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on unarmed tourists. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, has left at least 26 dead and dozens injured, shaking the nation’s conscience and casting a shadow on Kashmir’s budding tourism season.

A Scene of Horror Amidst Natural Beauty

What was meant to be a peaceful afternoon in paradise quickly descended into chaos. Eyewitnesses recall the terrifying moment when bullets pierced through the tranquil air, with panicked tourists running for their lives.

“It was supposed to be our dream vacation. I had just clicked a selfie with my family when I heard the shots,” recounted a survivor, barely holding back tears.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot, has claimed responsibility for the attack via an image now circulating widely on social media.

National and International Outrage

Union Home Minister Amit Shah swiftly flew to Srinagar, reviewed the security situation, and paid tributes to the deceased. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who cut short his diplomatic trip to Saudi Arabia, is holding a high-level meeting with intelligence and military officials.

“This was not just an attack on civilians, but an attack on India’s soul,” said Shah in a solemn address from Srinagar.

The global community has also reacted with horror and support. US President Donald Trump expressed deep condolences in a message to PM Modi. Australian PM Anthony Albanese and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu also condemned the strike, standing in solidarity with India.

Supreme Court and Leaders Speak Out

Even the judiciary was moved. The Supreme Court of India held a full court meeting to condemn what it called a “diabolical act of mindless violence.” Judges and lawyers observed a moment of silence in the memory of the victims.

Actor-turned-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, in a strongly worded social media post, called the terrorists “cowards” and questioned their morality. “These napunsaks didn’t have the courage to face armed forces, so they attacked innocents,” she wrote.

India Promises a Befitting Reply

Echoing the sentiment of every outraged citizen, Haryana Minister Anil Vij declared,
“This is Narendra Modi’s India. I don’t know when or how, but the reply will come. And it will be one they’ll never forget.”

The government has confirmed that the mortal remains of the victims have been taken to the Srinagar airport for transportation to their respective home states. Special compensation packages and support measures are being arranged for the bereaved families.

A Grim Reminder With A Resilient Spirit

The Pahalgam terror attack serves as a grim reminder of the fragile peace in Kashmir and the ever-present threat of cross-border terrorism. But it also highlights India’s resilience, unity, and the iron resolve to protect its people and its land.

As the nation grieves, it also prepares — not just to mourn the dead but to honor them with decisive action.
