- Gokalpur (SC): Ishwar Bagri (replacing Pramod Kumar Jayant)
The Congress has strategically fielded former Union minister Krishna Tirath from Patel Nagar and councillor Ariba Khan from Okhla. Notable here is that Ishwar Bagri replaces Pramod Kumar Jayant from the Gokalpur (SC) constituency, which says something about party realignment on certain issues.
Earlier this month, the party also declared Mahila Congress chief Alka Lamba as its candidate for Kalkaji, where she is set to challenge Chief Minister Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
AAP vs Congress vs BJP
While the Congress and AAP have been allies under the INDIA bloc, their paths have diverged in the Delhi elections. The ruling AAP has already announced its candidates for all 70 assembly seats, whereas the BJP has declared its candidates for 59 constituencies, leaving room for potential last-minute announcements.
A three-way battle promises in the Delhi Assembly elections with AAP, Congress, and BJP vying for a huge chunk of the electorate in the city.
