UP: Collapse of Scaffold at Jain Community Event in Baghpat Claims 8 Lives So Far

A major accident occurred in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. A wooden platform collapsed at the Man Stambh complex during the Nirvana Laddu festival of Lord Adinath, injuring more than 80 devotees trapped beneath the debris. This led to a stampede at the site.

As there was a delay in getting an ambulance, the injured were taken to the hospital in e-rickshaws. On receiving the information, the Inspector of Badaut Police Station along with his team reached the spot. The situation created panic and chaos at the location.

Local authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, while efforts are already being put in place to try and provide medical aid to those affected. The incident raised concerns over the precautionary measures in large religious gathering in the region.
