A woman constable Minakshi Sharma posted in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district has become the center of a major internal investigation after shocking revelations about her alleged connections with multiple police officers. The inquiry has not only raised questions about professional conduct but also exposed a deeper institutional vulnerability.

109 Calls in 3 Days: The Trigger That Raised Red Flags
According to internal records, the constable Minakshi Sharma, made 109 calls in just three days to Inspector Rai. A significant number of these were video calls, prompting senior officials to dig deeper into the pattern of communication.
During questioning, Minakshi reportedly admitted to having close links with around nine station in-charges, including sub-inspectors, inspectors, and even a former gazetted officer. Investigators say these relationships appear to have developed over several postings across the state.
Gifts, Favors, and Alleged Misuse of Authority
Sources within the department suggest that several policemen had gifted her gold jewelry and mobile phones over the years. These gestures have added weight to suspicions of coercion, manipulation, or mutual exploitation.
In a previous posting, Minakshi allegedly played a role in sending a constable from Bareilly to jail in a rape case — an incident that is now being re-examined to determine whether it was a genuine complaint or part of a larger pattern of influence.
Multiple SIM Cards Add Another Layer of Suspicion
Investigators also discovered that the constable had used around 11 SIM cards in the past five years, spanning her training period, her posting in Pilibhit, and later her transfer to Jalaun. During the current probe, four active SIM cards were recovered from her possession.
Officials say the frequent change of numbers indicates deliberate attempts to conceal communication trails.
A Growing Challenge for the Police Force
Senior officials admit that such cases are becoming increasingly common, raising fears about internal honey-trap operations that could compromise law enforcement integrity. “If officers fall prey themselves, how will they protect the public from such manipulative practices?” a senior official said on the condition of anonymity.
Departmental Action Expected Soon
The probe committee is expected to submit a detailed report in the coming days. Disciplinary actions, suspensions, and transfers are likely once the internal review concludes.
For now, the case has reignited discussions about internal discipline, vulnerability to exploitation, and the urgent need for stronger oversight mechanisms within the Uttar Pradesh Police.
