Allu Arjun Arrested: Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday by the Chikkadpally police in Hyderabad in connection with a tragic stampede that claimed the life of a woman during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. The incident occurred on December 4, 2024, at the Sandhya Theatre on the bustling RTC Crossroads.
The stampede killed 35-year-old Revathi due to asphyxiation and hospitalized her nine-year-old son, Sri Teja, in critical condition. The police said the chaos ensued as an enormous crowd amassed at the theatre to catch a glimpse of the star on the premiere night.
An FIR was filed against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Action was initiated by police on a complaint lodged by the family of the deceased woman. Amidst tight security, an actor was taken into custody by a team of officials from the Chikkadpally police station from his residence in Jubilee Hills.

Actor Undergoes Legal Action
Visuals broadcast on local TV channels showed Allu Arjun being escorted in a police vehicle to the station. The actor is going to be questioned on the incident. Meanwhile, his father-in-law, Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, also reached the police station presumably to offer legal or moral support.
The police have confirmed that Revathi and her son had attended the theatre when the stampede occurred. Revathi lost her life in the tragedy, but her son is recovering in a hospital.
Public Response and Legal Battle
After the incident, Allu Arjun had declared financial aid of ₹25 lakh to the victim’s family as a gesture of support. However, the legal troubles have mounted for the actor. He has approached the Telangana High Court, seeking to quash the FIR filed against him. The court is likely to hear his plea in the coming days.

In addition to the owner of the theatre, Allu Arjun and two other persons, police are investigating the lapses in crowd management and security arrangements that were supposed to be in place at the event.
