Soon after the clip went viral, Sofik took to Instagram to publicly address the situation. Speaking in Bengali, he apologised to his followers and expressed deep disappointment over how the incident unfolded. He clarified that the video was recorded more than a year ago and does not reflect who he is today.
“I am not the same person anymore. I only focus on work now,” he said in the video message. “Some people cannot tolerate someone doing well in life. That’s why this happened.”

Sofik went on to reveal that the video was leaked by someone he once trusted. According to him, the clip wasn’t in his possession — instead, it was saved on his girlfriend’s phone. He explained that during a shoot, both of them had handed over their phones to a close friend who knew their passwords.
“We trusted him like family. He used to handle our phones, and we told him everything,” Sofik said. “He took the video from our devices and started blackmailing us.”
The influencer claimed that he cut ties with the friend after discovering the blackmail attempts, and believes that triggered the leak.
“I stayed with him for several days. I treated him like a brother. But he didn’t think for a second before posting such a personal video,” he added, visibly upset.
Despite the controversy, many of his followers have shown support, urging others to avoid sharing the video further and respect his privacy.
