Sidhu Moosewala’s Parents Stage Sit-In Protest Over Alleged 30 Crore Financial Fraud

Sidhu Moosewala’s parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, staged a heartfelt sit-on-floor protest at the SSP office complex in Mansa on Wednesday, demanding the registration of an FIR over alleged financial fraud linked to two companies owned by their late son. The demonstration coincided with the visit of DIG Bathinda Range Harjeet Singh, who was at the office in connection with Operation Prahar 2.0.

The couple remained seated on the floor for nearly 45 minutes before being called inside to meet the DIG and the SSP. Speaking to the media, Balkaur Singh said they had filed a formal complaint with DGP AS Rai against their son’s manager and two others for financial fraud. “The complaint was forwarded to the SSP, and an SP conducted a probe. The file is now pending with the SSP, but no FIR has been registered yet,” he said. “If the authorities want to shield one person, they should at least book the remaining two. We have provided all related documents. Even if our complaint is false, they can book us, but they must act.”

The complaint reportedly concerns total earnings from various digital platforms since Moosewala’s death, amounting to approximately USD 1.15 crore. Sources said that nearly USD 70 lakh has been paid to Moosewala’s parents in installments since May 2022, while over USD 37 lakh remains pending.

Balkaur Singh alleged that the Mansa police were acting under the influence of money. “We have no money to bribe anyone. Our earning member has already been killed. We are elderly, have to take medicines, and yet we are forced to visit police offices repeatedly. We have come to meet the DIG to make him aware of our grief. We will not leave until the FIR is registered,” he said. Charan Kaur added, “If something happens to us, the Mansa police will be responsible.”

After their meeting with the DIG and SSP, the couple resumed their sit-on-floor protest outside the office but did not comment on the outcome, keeping the spotlight on their demand for justice.

The protest has drawn attention from media, fans, and legal observers, highlighting not only the financial dispute surrounding the slain singer’s companies but also the broader issue of police accountability and the challenges faced by victims’ families in India.

Nearly USD 37 lakh remains pending for the parents, raising concerns about delayed justice and transparency in handling high-profile financial disputes tied to celebrity estates. Their protest has become a symbol of the struggle of bereaved parents seeking accountability and justice in a system often criticized for bureaucracy and corruption.
