Saif Ali Khan Attack Case Live: In a dramatic turn of events, Mumbai Police have arrested the man accused of stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. The accused, identified as Vijay Das, was arrested near a restaurant in Kasar Vadavali, Thane, after a high-intensity operation involving more than 100 officers. Senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Joint Commissioner of Police (Joint CP), and Commissioner of Police (CP), confirmed the arrest on Sunday.

The accused, who was identified as a waiter at a restaurant, reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. Vijay Das, alias Bijoy Das and Mohammed Iliyas, was on the run since the attack on January 16. Preliminary investigations showed that the suspect had been living in Worli and had earlier worked at a pub near the Coast Guard base before being dismissed for allegations of theft.

The attack happened at about 2 a.m. on January 16, when the accused entered Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra house for alleged robbery purposes. In the course of burglary, the culprit threatened the actor’s maid for ₹1 crore. Both parties engaged in a fight, in which the actor received six knife injuries. Saif Ali Khan was taken straight to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery. He has since stabilized and been transferred from the ICU to a general ward.

The accused was found in Dadar buying headphones after he had escaped the crime scene, according to the viral CCTV footage on social media. The Mumbai Police launched a city-wide manhunt based on these leads. The breakthrough came when the accused was found in Thane. After his arrest, Vijay Das was detained at the Khar Police Station and brought to Mumbai for further questioning. The identification and verification process is still ongoing.

The authorities reported that the culprit was using multiple identities to evade them. He had been under intense surveillance and it was eventually discovered that he is the attacker, and he was subsequently arrested.
