Rahul Mamkootathil Mms leaked – In a dramatic political development, Kerala Youth Congress president and Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil tendered his resignation on Thursday after facing an internal inquiry over allegations made by actress Rini Ann George.
The controversy erupted when Rini George accused “a young leader” of a prominent political party of misbehaviour, sparking a political storm across Kerala. Though the actress did not directly name him, protests were staged by rival groups, including the BJP and DYFI, demanding Mamkootathil’s resignation as both MLA and Youth Congress chief.
Rahul Mamkootathil’s Statement
Addressing reporters at his residence in Adoor, Rahul Mamkootathil firmly denied any wrongdoing. He clarified that he had discussed the matter with Opposition Leader V D Satheesan, as well as senior leaders from KPCC and AICC, and none of them had asked him to step down.
“The actress is my friend, and I don’t believe she was referring to me. She remains a good friend of mine. I have not violated the law or the Constitution in any way,” Mamkootathil told the media.
Despite maintaining his innocence, he announced his resignation at the end of the press conference.
Reason Behind Resignation
Explaining his decision, Mamkootathil said:
“At a time when the Kerala government is facing severe protests and corruption allegations, Congress workers should not waste their time and energy on unnecessary controversies. Therefore, I have decided to resign as Youth Congress president. I still firmly believe that I have not committed any illegal act.”
Immediately after announcing his resignation, he declined further questions and went inside his house.

Earlier in the day, Opposition Leader V D Satheesan stressed that the Congress will not shield anyone found guilty of misconduct. His statement added pressure on Mamkootathil to step aside until the inquiry concludes.
