Chandigarh, May 22, 2025 — A sudden bomb threat at the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday morning caused immediate disruption, prompting an emergency evacuation of all courtrooms. The threat triggered a swift response from the High Court Bar Association, which issued a formal advisory urging lawyers, staff, and litigants to leave the premises as a precautionary measure.
According to the notice circulated by Gagandeep Jammu, the Honorary Secretary of the High Court Bar Association, Chandigarh, individuals present in the court complex were advised to remain vigilant. The advisory specifically instructed that any suspicious or unattended items found within the High Court premises should be reported immediately to the Bar Association’s office.
“In light of the bomb threat received this morning, all courtrooms are being evacuated as a precaution. Court proceedings will resume after lunch at 2:00 PM, subject to safety clearance,” the notice stated.
