PM Modi Launches Development Projects Worth ₹4,500 Crore Ahead of Delhi Assembly Elections

New Delhi: In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched development projects worth ₹4,500 crore. He spoke at a mass rally at Japani Park in Rohini and said that his government is dedicated to improving the city’s infrastructure and raising the living standards of its citizens.

A glittering highlight of the event was the inauguration of 1,675 newly constructed flats meant for residents of JJ clusters-a significant milestone under DDA’s slum rehabilitation project. PM Modi personally handed over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, thereby upholding his vision of people moving from slums to dignified housing.

The idea behind DDA’s initiative is that it tries to give an underprivileged person a better lifestyle. This project is the second successful slab rehabilitation project undertaken by the authority after years of continous efforts. Talking about the initiative, PM Modi said, “Every Indian deserves to have a safe and clean environment in which to live. These projects are a step towards making Delhi a city of equal opportunities for all.”

PM Modi also inaugurated two major urban redevelopment projects: WTC at Naoroji Nagar, replacing more than 600 dilapidated quarters with state-of-the-art commercial towers that provide 34 lakh sq ft of premium commercial space, and General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) at Sarojini Nagar, thereby modernizing urban living for government employees.

He also laid the foundation stone of three academic blocks in Delhi University. These were investments worth ₹600 crore- the East Campus Academic Block at Surajmal Vihar, the West Campus Academic Block at Dwarka, and the Veer Savarkar College Building at Roshanpura, Najafgarh. He started the metro work connecting Rithala to rural areas and thus ensured further connectivity with the city to eliminate long-term transit issues in the city.

These projects reflect the Modi government’s vision to transform Delhi into a city with world-class infrastructure and equitable development. Be it providing houses to slum dwellers or establishing advanced educational and commercial spaces, PM Modi reiterated his commitment to creating a “New Delhi” for all its residents.

As the election campaign unfolds, these initiatives are expected to resonate strongly with the electorate, setting the stage for a competitive contest in the capital.
