Suspended Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu has ignited a major political storm in Punjab with a series of sharp, direct attacks on state Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring. Despite being removed from the party’s primary membership for her “Rs 500 crore for chief minister’s chair” remark, Kaur declared that she and her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu remain committed to the Congress.
“We are and will always be with the Congress,” she wrote, adding that the party’s success in Punjab would be their mission.

‘Raja Warring Is Destroying Congress’: Kaur’s Allegations Intensify
In multiple posts on X, Navjot Kaur Sidhu accused Raja Warring of damaging the party from within.
She claimed that 70 dedicated and competent leaders were sidelined under his leadership, many of whom are “deserving winning candidates” but were denied fair opportunities.
We are and will always be with the Congress and win our Punjab state and gift it to our own humble, loving and sacrificing Gandhi family. 70% of our efficient, honest and loyal leaders are in touch with me whom you have disassociated with the Congress party and who are deserving…

Claims of Dummy Tickets and Internal Sabotage
Kaur alleged that Warring distributed dummy tickets to inexperienced or ineffectual candidates, weakening the Congress in nearly 70 percent of the seats.
“Congress will win Punjab despite your focus on destroying our seats,” she asserted.
She also questioned Warring’s own political track record, asking why he faced defeat in his constituency twice.
Allegations of Ticket Selling and Collusion
Escalating the accusations, Navjot Kaur Sidhu claimed that several election tickets in Punjab were “sold” even before the campaign process began.
She alleged that Warring:
- “Was kicked out of Gujarat for selling tickets”
- “Bought fancy cars, land, and properties”
- “Used people like dogs to bark”
Kaur went on to question whether Warring was working in collusion with the opposition to sabotage Congress candidates, forcing many loyal workers to leave the party.
Ambedkarite Voters ‘Ignored’, 5 Amritsar MLAs ‘Opposed Appointment’
Kaur claimed that Warring ignored 34 senior leaders and appointed a district chief in Amritsar whom all five MLAs opposed.
She further accused him of going against Congress values and sidelining 38% of the party’s Ambedkarite base, asking him why he never resigned after repeated internal backlash.
Warring Responds: ‘Conspiracies Will Fail’
Raja Warring rejected all allegations and hit back, saying that attempts to weaken the Congress in Punjab would be defeated.
Without naming anyone, he suggested that some individuals lacking political base were “speaking the language of enemies” because they expected Congress to rise again in 2027.
Warring also clarified that the party took disciplinary action only after Kaur’s controversial remark, which triggered a political row in the state.
A Deepening Rift Ahead of 2027 Elections
The confrontation between Navjot Kaur Sidhu and Raja Warring has opened a new chapter of infighting within Punjab Congress.
With Lok Sabha polls approaching and the 2027 Assembly elections already in focus, the public spat threatens to unsettle the party’s internal structure at a crucial moment.
Whether the leadership in Delhi intervenes or the conflict escalates further remains to be seen.
