Manohar Lal Dhakad MMS: In a shocking turn of events from Madhya Pradesh, a scandal involving Manohar Lal Dhakad, the husband of a BJP-backed district panchayat member, has created a nationwide stir. Dhakad, who was allegedly caught on CCTV engaging in sexual activity with a woman in public on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, has now been arrested and sent to jail. The case, which blends public indecency, political embarrassment, blackmail, and viral video controversy, has sparked heated discussions across political and social spheres.

The controversy began on the night of May 13, when Manohar Lal Dhakad and a woman companion, reportedly a government school teacher, were traveling in a car (MP-14-CC-4782) near Neemthur Point on the expressway in Mandsaur. Shockingly, they stopped the vehicle, stepped out unclothed, and engaged in sexual activity right on the road. This act lasted around eight minutes and was captured on the expressway’s CCTV cameras.
However, it wasn’t until May 22 that the video surfaced online, raising questions about the delay. As it turns out, the footage became the center of a blackmail scheme. According to police sources, NHAI staff allegedly tried to extort ₹10 lakh from Dhakad in exchange for not leaking the video. After failed negotiations, the video was eventually leaked and went viral across social media platforms, igniting widespread outrage.
Following the video’s circulation, police filed a case against both Manohar Lal Dhakad and the woman. On May 25, Dhakad surrendered at Bhanupara Police Station, was questioned for three hours, and later taken to the exact location of the act as part of the investigation. He has now been sent to Garoth Sub Jail. Police have also seized the vehicle involved and are actively searching for the woman, who has been identified as a long-time acquaintance of Dhakad.
Meanwhile, authorities have issued a notice to NHAI officials, seeking a list of employees who were on duty on May 13. Action is expected against those involved in leaking the video.
Political fallout followed swiftly. While Manohar Lal Dhakad was earlier referred to as a BJP leader, the party has since distanced itself, stating that he is not a primary or active member. The BJP called his actions shameful and clarified that such individuals have no place in the organization.
The Manohar Lal Dhakad Mahasabha also acted promptly, removing him from his post as the National Youth Minister of the community organization. His wife, an elected BJP-backed member of the Mandsaur District Panchayat, has also reportedly stepped away from public and party engagements since the scandal broke.
The Congress did not miss the opportunity to attack. Mandsaur Block Congress President Dr. Raghvendra Singh Tomar slammed the BJP, claiming that such incidents expose the true face of the party time and again.
As the case unfolds, police are expected to make further arrests and take action against all involved in the blackmail and video leak. The incident has once again brought to light the importance of personal accountability among public figures, and how misuse of power, public indecency, and political privilege can no longer remain hidden in the age of viral media.
