Recent messages circulating among LPG gas agencies suggest that the refill gap for domestic LPG cylinders in rural areas has been increased to 45 days. According to information shared by agency owners, LPG companies have sent internal communication informing distributors about the revised refill interval for rural or Gramin category customers.

The update has started drawing attention after some consumers noticed that their next booking date was significantly delayed compared to the usual schedule. In several cases, customers received notifications showing that their next refill booking would be available only after around 45 days from the previous delivery.
For example, one customer notification indicated that the last LPG refill was delivered on February 14, 2026, and the next available booking date would be April 1, 2026. This roughly reflects a 45-day waiting period between two bookings, which aligns with the information shared by LPG agencies.
At the same time, there appears to be no change in refill rules for urban and semi-urban customers. Gas distributors say that the refill gap in cities and towns continues to remain around 25 days, which has been the standard interval followed by LPG companies for quite some time.
The refill gap is an important factor for households because it determines how soon a consumer can book the next cylinder after receiving the previous one. A longer gap could affect families that rely heavily on LPG for daily cooking, especially in rural areas where many households operate with a single cylinder connection.
Industry insiders say the change was communicated internally on an “industry basis,” meaning LPG distributors across different companies received similar instructions. However, there has not yet been a widely circulated public announcement explaining the reason behind the adjustment.
Many consumers typically avoid refill delays by opting for a double-cylinder connection, which allows them to switch to the second cylinder when the first one runs out. But households that have only one cylinder may now need to manage their usage more carefully if the 45-day refill gap is fully implemented.
Gas agencies are advising customers to check their booking eligibility date through the official LPG booking systems, mobile apps, or customer service numbers. In some cases, the booking portal automatically displays the next eligible date based on the company’s refill interval policy.

While the information is currently being shared through agency-level communication, consumers are waiting for official confirmation from LPG companies or government authorities regarding the revised refill gap for rural connections.
