Lipsy Mittal Murder Case : In a shocking incident, the wife of a local Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was murdered during a robbery attempt near Rurka village, 40 km from Ludhiana, on Saturday night. The police confirmed the attack and said an investigation is on to catch the perpetrators.

The 33-year-old Lipsy Mittal was on her way back home with her husband, Anokh Mittal, from a hotel where they had dinner on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla road when their car was stopped by robbers. Officials said the attackers, who were carrying sharp-edged weapons, brutally attacked the couple before leaving the scene.

Whereas Lipsy Mittal died instantly due to injuries, her husband, who is a local businessman and AAP leader, received grievous injuries. He was immediately taken to a private hospital for immediate medical care.

In the aftermath of the gory incident, relatives of Lipsy Mittal and residents in the area protested outside the hospital on Sunday night, calling for prompt justice and serious action against the perpetrators. They also urged for increased security procedures in the area to check against such acts of brutality.

A top police officer confirmed that the government has initiated a full-scale investigation and is analyzing CCTV footage of the areas in the vicinity. “We are dealing with several leads and will see to it that the culprits are brought to justice at the earliest,” he assured.

The harrowing experience has caused shockwaves among the local community, with residents, as well as political leaders, deploring the assault and calling on the government to act decisively against crime.
