Khan Sir Not Arrested: Bihar Police Rejects Rumors
Anu Kumari, SDPO Sachiwalay-1, was quoted by the media, “Khan Sir wasn’t arrested. He had come to the police station on his own to meet the arrested students who had been protesting. Misinformation was spread over social media, and we’re taking legal action against the handle ‘Khan Global Studies‘ for spreading fake news.
The SDPO further mentioned that rumors about Khan Sir’s arrest caused unnecessary panic among his supporters. “People associated with the social media handle ‘Khan Global Studies’ demanded his release through various posts, despite there being no arrest,” Kumari added.
According to Patna Police, Khan Sir had visited the police station after talking to the students who were holding a dharna near the BPSC office in Gardani Bagh. Upon arrival, he talked to the police over the issue.
“He was repeatedly asked to leave the police station after his discussion. On his request, the personnel of the Gardani Bagh police station dropped him near his car in a police vehicle. He was neither detained nor arrested,” the SDPO clarified.
When state police were resorted to forcefully disperse the crowd from the BPSC office premises, the protest by aspirants for BPSC began turning fierce. The change in rules for the coming Preliminary Examination scheduled on December 13 was the reason why the students were protesting against.
The changes have erupted vast uprisings among all aspirants who claim to be dealt unfairly and as harmful for their preparation according to the new rules laid.
Bihar Police has filed a legal case against ‘Khan Global Studies,’ the social media handle which had spread false news regarding the arrest of Khan Sir. Authorities have warned people against the circulation of fake news and asked people to verify the facts before believing or sharing them.
As the situation unfolds, attention is still on the resolution of grievances of protesting aspirants and law and order in the state capital.
