Shivamogga and several other parts of Karnataka continue to remain in a state of shock as investigators uncover new details in the murder case of Vasantha Naik. The case, which has drawn widespread attention across the state, involves allegations against a gang allegedly led by a woman known as ‘Kiladi Lady’ Suchitra, along with astrologer Kamalakar Bhat.

As the investigation progresses, officials say fresh information about Suchitra’s past relationships, financial dealings, and personal associations is emerging steadily. These revelations are adding complexity to a case that has already raised serious concerns about motive and planning.
According to investigators and local reports, Suchitra was reportedly involved in a three-year relationship with a landlord from Gulbarga, identified as Sharanabasappa, before she met astrologer Kamalakar Bhat. This earlier association is now being examined closely as part of efforts to trace her background and understand her movements over the past few years.
Sources indicate that during her stay in Gulbarga, Suchitra allegedly ran an orchestra group named “Appu Melodies Gulbarga,” which was reportedly financed using money provided by Sharanabasappa. Investigators are currently verifying financial records linked to the group to determine whether these transactions have any relevance to the murder probe.
Some private photographs of Suchitra and the landlord have also surfaced, drawing public attention to the case. Officials, however, have clarified that such material is being reviewed strictly from an investigative and evidentiary standpoint.
Reports further claim that Suchitra had left her husband, Mahesh Naik, and moved to Gulbarga, where she was often seen in the company of Sharanabasappa. It is also alleged that she invited him to her residence when her husband was away, though police have not officially confirmed all such claims.
Investigators are also probing allegations that Suchitra used money linked to the Gulbarga landlord for private lending activities in Siddapura. Financial transactions connected to this claim are currently under verification.
According to sources, tensions reportedly surfaced after astrologer Kamalakar Bhat learned about Suchitra’s past association with Sharanabasappa. This revelation is said to have led to a dispute between the two, following which Suchitra allegedly cut off her ties with the landlord and continued her relationship with Bhat.
Investigative agencies are also examining claims that Kamalakar Bhat gifted Suchitra cars and bikes. These assets are now being scrutinized as part of the broader financial trail connected to the case.
Meanwhile, Suchitra’s husband Mahesh Naik had reportedly been living separately from her for the past six months. Sources suggest that he was upset over her alleged affairs, although police have not indicated any direct involvement of the husband in the murder case.
Both Suchitra and astrologer Kamalakar Bhat are accused in the murder of Vasantha Naik, a case that has triggered intense public discussion across Karnataka. Police officials maintain that the investigation is ongoing and that further disclosures are expected as they continue to analyze call records, financial data, and witness statements.
Authorities have urged the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to proceed as per law, stating that all aspects of the case are being examined thoroughly.
