The investigation into the Lamborghini crash in Kanpur has taken a new turn after tobacco businessman KK Mishra denied claims that his son Shivam Mishra was driving the luxury car at the time of the accident. The crash left a pedestrian injured and damaged several vehicles, triggering widespread attention due to the high-profile individuals involved.

Speaking to the media, Mishra stated that the Lamborghini was being driven by a hired driver named Mohan, while his son was only sitting inside the vehicle. He claimed the family has been unfairly targeted and insisted they are fully cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
Mishra further said that the luxury car had developed technical issues earlier and was repaired just a day before the accident. According to him, the vehicle was taken out only for a test drive when the accident occurred. He alleged that the car again developed a fault during the drive, which may have led to the crash.
He also revealed that his son suddenly felt unwell inside the car. Mishra said Shivam became dizzy, his condition worsened rapidly, and he lost consciousness. Due to the medical emergency, the family immediately sent him to Delhi for treatment, where he is currently undergoing medical care.
The businessman accused the police of unnecessary harassment and maintained that no law had been broken. He reiterated that the family would continue to cooperate with authorities in every possible manner.
The family’s lawyer has also questioned the police version of events, asserting that Shivam Mishra was not driving the vehicle. The legal team pointed to inconsistencies in the investigation and claimed that the initial police action itself indicated uncertainty about the driver’s identity.
CCTV footage from the accident site shows the Lamborghini entering the area and security personnel rushing in afterward. However, the footage does not clearly show who was driving the car, as the windows were dark, leaving the question unresolved.
Police initially registered an FIR against an unknown driver and seized the Lamborghini. Shivam Mishra’s name was later added as a suspected driver. Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal clarified that Shivam’s name was not mentioned initially because investigators were unsure who was driving at the time of the accident. He said the investigation is still ongoing and all available evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements, is being examined.
As the probe continues, police are also monitoring the condition of the injured pedestrian while working to establish the exact sequence of events in one of Kanpur’s most talked-about road accidents in recent times.
