Kharsawan, Jharkhand, November 8 – Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who also serves as the BJP’s co-incharge for Jharkhand’s assembly elections, delivered a powerful address at an election rally in Kharsawan. Sarma accused Congress leaders Alamgir Alam and Irfan Ansari of plundering Jharkhand’s resources and vowed to bring them to justice, stating, “The BJP will drive them away, just like we ousted Babar from Ayodhya.”
Sarma’s rally speech, reported by ANI, included fierce criticisms of Congress, particularly aimed at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Sarma accused Gandhi of attempting to divide Hindu society, saying, “Rahul Gandhi, the enemy of our society, wants to divide us in a way that even the British didn’t try.” Sarma further alleged that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren favors infiltrators and has failed to prioritize the welfare of the tribal and general populations in the state.
During the rally, Sarma also promised strict action against those who were involved in exam paper leaks, which he claimed had jeopardized the futures of countless young people in Jharkhand. “We will catch and send to jail those who leaked the exam papers. We will not spare anyone, no matter how influential,” Sarma declared, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to protecting the interests of Jharkhand’s youth.
In his speech, Sarma also highlighted the BJP’s welfare agenda for Jharkhand, pledging to raise pensions to ₹2,500 and deposit ₹2,100 in the bank accounts of women if the BJP is voted back to power.
Addressing Infiltration and Demographic Concerns
Sarma didn’t limit his comments to economic and governance issues. He reiterated BJP’s concern over alleged infiltration, warning that unchecked infiltration could lead to a “demographic shift” in Jharkhand, turning it into what he termed a “mini-Bangladesh.” He stated, “The infiltrators are causing a huge disturbance in Jharkhand’s culture and ‘Adivasi asmita’. If this continues, Jharkhand will become a mini-Bangladesh.” He highlighted the BJP’s promise to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Jharkhand, aiming to counteract the alleged demographic changes.
War of Words with Congress Leaders
Sarma also criticized Congress leaders in Jharkhand, including Jamtara’s Congress candidate and Minister Irfan Ansari. Sarma promised strict action against Ansari, who he said had used derogatory language against BJP leader Sita Soren. “Ansari will face jail for his foul remarks,” Sarma stated. Additionally, he accused Congress of attempting to “divide Hindus,” rallying supporters with the slogan, “ek rahoge to safe rahoge” (stand united to be safe).
