Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar’s Wife Preeti Kumari Passes Away in Sleep Due to Silent Heart Attack

In a tragic turn of events, Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar’s wife, Preeti Kumari, passed away in her sleep on Thursday morning due to a silent heart attack. According to family members, Preeti Kumari had dinner as usual on Wednesday night and went to bed. However, when she did not wake up the next morning, the family tried to wake her but found her unresponsive. She was rushed to Jaipur’s Durga Durlabhji Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Doctors have confirmed that the cause of death was a silent heart attack—a condition where symptoms are minimal or completely absent, often going unnoticed until it is too late. A medical team had initially reached the minister’s residence for emergency care, but her condition did not improve.

Preeti Kumari and Gajendra Singh Khimsar were married in February 1982. The couple has a son, Dhananjay Singh Khimsar, who currently serves as the President of the Jodhpur Cricket Association, and a daughter. Family friends describe Preeti Kumari as a kind-hearted, family-oriented woman who maintained a humble presence despite her husband’s high political profile.

The news of her sudden passing has sent shockwaves through political and social circles across Rajasthan. As a result of the tragedy, all official engagements of Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar have been cancelled, including several scheduled programs in Bikaner, where he serves as the district in-charge minister.

The last rites of Preeti Kumari will be performed on Friday at 9 a.m. in Khimsar town, Nagaur district. Several political leaders and officials have expressed their condolences to the grieving family. The untimely demise of Preeti Kumari has left a deep void and cast a pall of sorrow across the state.
