Amarinder Singh, a former Army officer and one of Punjab’s most prominent political figures, has been facing knee-related issues for several years. This is not the first time he has undergone treatment for the condition. In May 2023, he had a knee replacement surgery at a hospital in Mohali, while in 2018, he underwent surgery on his right knee at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) in Chandigarh.

On Tuesday, senior Haryana BJP leader and state minister Anil Vij visited the hospital to enquire about Amarinder Singh’s health. Vij met the veteran leader and interacted with doctors to get an update on his recovery. He later expressed hope for Amarinder Singh’s speedy and complete recovery.

Sources said Amarinder Singh is responding well to treatment and remains in good spirits. He is expected to stay in the hospital for a few more days as doctors continue to monitor his recovery. Following the news of his hospitalisation, messages wishing him good health and a quick recovery poured in from political colleagues and supporters across the country.
