Ghaziabad Encounter: The shooters who opened fire outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s Bareilly house were killed in a joint encounter by UP STF and Delhi Police in Ghaziabad. Both were linked to Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar gangs.

Shooters Linked to Gangsters Eliminated in Police Action
Ghaziabad: Two men accused of opening fire outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s Bareilly residence were shot dead in an encounter late Wednesday night. The operation was carried out jointly by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Delhi Police.
The accused have been identified as Ravindra alias Kallu, a resident of Rohtak, and Arun, hailing from Sonipat, Haryana. Both were confirmed associates of dreaded gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar, police officials said.
During the exchange of fire in Ghaziabad, the shooters were neutralized after they retaliated against the police. From the site, officers recovered two high-end weapons— a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol— along with several cartridges.
Background: Twin Attacks on Disha Patani’s Family
The dramatic encounter comes days after Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, lodged complaints about two separate firing incidents at their Civil Lines home in Bareilly.
- The first attack occurred on September 11 at 4:33 am, when gunshots were fired outside the house.
- The second attack followed the very next morning, on September 12 at 3:30 am, with assailants again targeting the property.
According to the FIR, neighbors discovered empty cartridges on the road following the attack. Disha’s father also revealed that the family had been facing online threats and abusive remarks directed at the actress.

A Gangland Angle
Investigators believe the shooters were acting on instructions from organized crime networks. The STF confirmed that both Ravindra and Arun were not first-time offenders. Ravindra, in particular, had a history of involvement in multiple criminal cases across Haryana.
Police sources suggest that the attacks may have been intended to send a message, potentially linked to gang rivalry and intimidation tactics.
Social Media Controversy Adds a Twist
The case also unfolded against the backdrop of a heated social media row. Days earlier, preacher Aniruddhacharya Maharaj stirred controversy with a derogatory remark about young women. Disha’s sister, Khushboo Patani, strongly criticized the statement, calling the preacher “anti-national” and slamming his supporters.
Her comments sparked widespread online debate, which was further complicated when another preacher, Premanand Maharaj, was dragged into the conversation, though Khushboo later clarified her remarks were directed only at Aniruddhacharya.
With the elimination of the accused, police believe a major threat to the Patani family has been neutralized. However, the broader investigation into gang involvement and possible motives remains ongoing.
