Delhi MCD Bypoll Results 2025: The Delhi Municipal Corporation by-election results are out, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a clear lead by winning 7 out of 12 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won 3 seats, Congress won 1 seat, and the All India Forward Bloc also won 1 seat.

The counting began at 8 am at 10 centres across the city, with tight security in place.
BJP Leads the Tally With Key Wins Across Delhi
The BJP’s victory was highlighted by several significant wins:
• Shalimar Bagh B (Major Win)
Anita Jain secured a thumping victory over AAP’s Babita Rana by over 10,000 votes, marking one of the largest margins of the bypolls.
The seat was earlier vacated by Rekha Gupta, who became Delhi’s Chief Minister after winning the Assembly election.
• Chandni Chowk & Dichaon Kalan
The party comfortably retained its traditional strongholds.
• Dwarka-B
Manisha Rani defeated AAP’s Raj Bala by a margin of 9,100 votes, strengthening the BJP’s position in South-West Delhi.
• Ashok Vihar
In a close contest, BJP’s Veena Asija edged past AAP’s Seema Goyal by 405 votes, reflecting a tight fight in the ward.

AAP Wins Three Wards, Close Contest in Naraina
AAP won the Mundka and Dakshinpuri wards easily.
The party also won the Naraina seat by just 148 votes, making it one of the closest results of the day.
Congress Opens Account With Sangam Vihar A Win
Congress got one seat in the bypolls.
Suresh Choudhary won the Sangam Vihar A ward by getting 12,766 votes, while BJP’s Subhajeet Gautam got 9,138 votes.
AIFB Wins Chandni Mahal Ward
In Chandni Mahal, Mohd Imran from the All India Forward Bloc won by 4,692 votes, defeating AAP’s Mudassar Usman.
Low Voter Turnout Compared to 2022
This bypoll saw a turnout of 38.51%, which is lower than the 50.47% turnout in the 2022 MCD elections.
Officials said fewer people came out to vote in this bypoll.
A Key Test for BJP’s New Government
This by-election was seen as the first big test for the BJP after forming the government in Delhi in February.
Winning 7 seats shows the party still has strong support across several areas.
