The derailment occurred at around 8:51 am as the train was passing through the Jakhapura section under the East Coast Railway zone. One air-conditioned coach and two general coaches jumped off the tracks. Despite the sudden jolt, there were no reports of panic-related injuries, and the situation was quickly brought under control by railway staff present at the site.

Railway officials described the incident as a minor derailment. Passengers from the affected coaches were promptly shifted to other coaches of the train and provided necessary assistance. Senior railway officials and technical teams rushed to the spot soon after the derailment was reported.
