Multiple Areas Affected as Trees Collapse

Several parts of Chandigarh reported fallen trees, broken branches, and traffic disruptions as the gusty winds continued through the day. In some areas, roads were partially blocked, causing inconvenience to commuters.

Municipal teams were deployed to clear fallen trees and restore traffic movement. Power supply disruptions were also reported briefly in a few pockets due to damaged overhead lines.

Authorities Issue Safety Advisory

In response to the incidents, local authorities and disaster management officials have advised residents to:

  • Avoid unnecessary travel during high wind conditions
  • Stay away from trees, hoardings, and weak structures
  • Secure loose objects on rooftops and balconies
  • Park vehicles in safe, open areas

Officials stated that weather conditions are being closely monitored, and emergency teams remain on standby.

Weather Department Warns of Continued Unstable Conditions

The Meteorological Department indicated that strong surface winds are likely to continue intermittently, driven by changing atmospheric pressure patterns in the region.

Residents have been urged to remain alert and follow official advisories until weather conditions stabilize.
