At least 15 schools across Noida and Delhi were thrown into panic on Thursday morning after receiving bomb threat emails during ongoing CBSE board examinations. The alarming messages arrived while students were inside examination halls, prompting immediate evacuations and large-scale security checks.
In Noida alone, 12 schools reported receiving the threatening emails during exam hours. School authorities acted swiftly, ensuring that students and staff were evacuated in a controlled and orderly manner. Parents were informed without delay to prevent confusion and panic. Police teams, bomb disposal squads, and dog units rushed to the campuses to conduct detailed search operations.
Officials confirmed that each affected school was thoroughly checked. No suspicious objects were found during the preliminary inspections. However, sanitisation drives continued as an added precaution to ensure complete safety before normal activities could resume.
A similar situation unfolded in Delhi, where three prominent schools also received threat emails. According to Delhi Fire Services officials, the messages were sent to CRPF Public School, St Thomas School, and DAV Centenary Public School. Emergency response teams, including fire tenders and bomb disposal units, were deployed immediately. Police and local administration officials conducted extensive checks across the premises.
Authorities later stated that no explosives or suspicious materials were discovered during initial searches in Delhi either. Still, security teams remained on site for further inspection and monitoring.
The timing of the threats has raised serious concern, as they coincided with the crucial Central Board of Secondary Education examinations. Many parents rushed to school gates after receiving official communication. Despite the tense atmosphere, officials ensured that evacuation procedures were conducted calmly and systematically.
Cyber crime teams have now been activated to trace the origin of the emails. Investigators are analysing digital footprints, server routes, and IP addresses to determine whether the threats were genuine or part of a coordinated hoax attempt. Police officials have stressed that every threat is being treated with utmost seriousness.
In a related development, Principal Joseph has been arrested and remains in police custody as the investigation continues. Authorities are examining all possible links and angles while maintaining that detailed forensic analysis is underway.
