According to official sources, at least five private schools received threatening emails warning of a possible bomb presence on their premises. These included St Kabir Public School, Vivek High School, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sacred Heart School, and Chitkara International School. Reports also suggested that some government schools may have received similar messages, though confirmation was awaited.

As soon as the emails were received, school administrations alerted the Chandigarh Police, who rushed to the affected campuses. As a precautionary measure, students already inside the school buildings were evacuated to open areas, while others were sent back home safely. Parents were informed through official communication channels to prevent panic and ensure orderly movement.

Police personnel were seen stationed outside the school premises, restricting entry and maintaining security. Bomb detection and disposal squads were deployed to conduct thorough checks of classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and other common areas. An emergency siren was also reportedly sounded in parts of the city as part of standard safety protocol.

Officials stated that no suspicious objects had been detected at the time of reporting, but emphasized that every threat is treated with utmost seriousness. Cyber teams have begun tracing the origin of the emails to identify those responsible and determine whether the threats were genuine or a hoax.

The incident led to concern among parents, many of whom rushed to schools upon receiving evacuation alerts. However, several parents appreciated the prompt response by school managements and police authorities, saying student safety was handled responsibly.

Security has been tightened across educational institutions in Chandigarh, with police advising school authorities to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious communication. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have urged the public to remain calm as the situation continues to be monitored.
