The deceased has been identified as Kiran, a professional bodybuilder and gym trainer. According to senior police officials, Kiran shared a close relationship with the woman and had been emotionally invested in their future together. The sudden revelation of her engagement reportedly left him deeply distressed.

Police sources said the woman recently informed Kiran that her marriage had been finalised and even showed him the wedding invitation and a new saree. Shortly after the meeting, Kiran returned to his residence, locked himself inside his room, and allegedly died by hanging. The incident came to light when family members, concerned after repeated attempts to contact him failed, forced open the door and found him unresponsive.

The police were alerted immediately, and Kiran’s body was shifted to Victoria Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the incident.

Sources close to the family revealed that Kiran was preparing to gift something to the woman for Valentine’s Day, making the incident particularly heartbreaking. The news of her engagement reportedly shattered him emotionally, leaving him unable to cope with the sudden turn of events.

Kiran’s parents have filed a complaint at the Mahalakshmi Layout police station, alleging that their son was emotionally and financially exploited. They claimed that the woman’s family had an outstanding loan of around ₹50 lakh and that Kiran had assured them of financial help to clear the amount.

According to the family, the woman had visited their home nearly eight months ago and had requested Kiran’s parents to agree to their marriage. However, they allege that after receiving financial support, she went ahead with another marriage, which pushed their son into taking the extreme step.

The woman is reportedly two years older than Kiran, and her marriage was finalised just a week ago. Police officials stated that all allegations, including claims of financial transactions and emotional pressure, are being examined carefully.

Authorities have reiterated that the investigation is ongoing and that no conclusions have been drawn at this stage. The incident has once again brought attention to the emotional vulnerability faced by young individuals in relationship-related matters.

Police have urged people experiencing emotional distress to seek support from family members, friends, or professional counsellors, emphasising that help is always available.
