Basti Sex Scandal : In a shocking incident in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, a Junior Engineer (JE) from the electricity department, Ravindra Kumar, has been accused of sexually exploiting a married woman under the pretense of helping her resolve her electricity bill issues. This incident came to light after a video of the act went viral on social media, causing a stir among locals and raising serious concerns about the abuse of power by public officials.
Exploitation in the Name of Bill Adjustment
According to sources, the woman approached Ravindra Kumar to rectify an inflated electricity bill for her household. However, the JE allegedly used this as an opportunity to take advantage of her vulnerability. As per reports, he invited her to his office under the guise of discussing the bill but instead attempted to engage in inappropriate behavior.
Caught on Camera
The allegations against Ravindra Kumar escalated after the victim disclosed that he had coerced her into drinking something that led to her losing consciousness. Following this, the JE allegedly sexually assaulted her and recorded the act. The woman revealed that the JE used this video to blackmail her, forcing her into repeated exploitation. This time, however, she took a stand and devised a plan to expose him.
She reportedly invited him to her home again, but this time had set up a hidden camera in advance. The camera captured the JE’s inappropriate actions, providing substantial evidence of his misconduct.
Department in Turmoil, Investigation Underway
The viral video triggered an uproar within the electricity department, and senior officials were swift to react. Ravindra Kumar has been suspended pending an investigation, and a formal inquiry has been launched. The department, acknowledging the damage to its reputation, has assured the public of stringent actions to be taken against the accused if the allegations are proven true.
This scandal has not only tarnished the image of the electricity department but has also highlighted significant concerns regarding the misuse of official authority for personal gain. The case has sparked widespread anger among the public, with citizens demanding strict action against those who exploit their positions.
