Veteran social activist Anna Hazare has responded after a Delhi court discharged former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia in the controversial excise policy case, emphasizing the importance of respecting judicial decisions.

Court Verdict Brings Major Relief
The decision was delivered by the Rouse Avenue Court, which ruled that Kejriwal was not at fault in the matter. The case had been one of the most high-profile political controversies in recent years, drawing nationwide attention.
Following the verdict, supporters of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) called it a major vindication, while political opponents continued to raise questions.
Anna Hazare Stresses Faith in Judiciary
Reacting to the court’s decision, Anna Hazare underscored that India’s stability rests on strong institutions.
He said the country continues to function smoothly despite its size, diversity, and political differences because of the strength of its judicial and security systems.
“Our country runs on the strength of its judicial and security systems. Despite being such a large nation with diverse parties, castes, religions, and communities, it functions smoothly because of the judiciary. Without it, there would be chaos and unrest.”
“Court Verdict Must Be Accepted”
Hazare further stated that once a court delivers its judgment, it should be accepted by all sides, regardless of political affiliation.
He noted that the ruling clearly stated that Arvind Kejriwal was not at fault, and therefore the matter should be respected in accordance with democratic principles and rule of law.
Political Implications Ahead
The verdict is expected to influence the political landscape in Delhi and beyond, especially with upcoming electoral battles. Analysts believe the decision could strengthen AAP’s narrative while intensifying debates between rival parties.
