Amit Shah Condemns Abuses Against PM Modi’s Late Mother, BJP Lodges Police Complaint

Amit Shah Calls It an ‘Insult to Every Mother’

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Amit Shah issued a sharp response to the incident.

“The use of abusive language filled with expletives against the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and his late mother from the Congress and RJD platform in Darbhanga, Bihar, is not only condemnable but also a stain on our democracy,” Shah posted.

He further said that this insult was not limited to the Prime Minister but to “every mother and every son” in the country, adding that the people of India would “never forgive” the Congress and RJD leaders for allowing such remarks at their rally.

BJP Files Police Complaint in Patna

Following the uproar, a delegation of Bihar BJP leaders lodged a complaint at the Kotwali police station in Patna. According to BJP’s Darbhanga district unit chief Aditya Narayan Jha ‘Manna’, the incident has triggered “tremendous anger” among party workers, who have already staged protests and burnt effigies of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav.

The party has also announced that it is collecting video evidence to pursue an FIR against the individuals involved.

Viral Video From Darbhanga Rally

In the viral video, an unidentified man is heard making derogatory remarks about PM Modi’s late mother while addressing the crowd from the stage mic. The event was part of the Congress-led ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, and the stage carried posters featuring Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Tejashwi Yadav.

Shah accused the Congress leadership of “crossing all limits of propriety” and said that under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the party’s politics had “fallen to its lowest level.”

‘Congress Has Become a Party of Abuses’: Sambit Patra

Reacting to the controversy, BJP MP and spokesperson Sambit Patra directly blamed Rahul Gandhi, saying that the Congress has turned into a “gali wali party” (a party of abuses).

“Congress ki galiyon ki dukan seal hogi, aur iski shuruat Bihar se hogi,” Patra declared, suggesting that the people of Bihar will deliver a strong electoral response to the INDIA bloc in upcoming polls.

People Will ‘Punish’ Opposition, Says BJP

The BJP has asserted that the Congress-led INDIA bloc will face severe backlash in the upcoming state assembly elections. Amit Shah reiterated that for over two decades, since Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister, the Gandhi family had consistently spread hatred against him, but this time they had crossed a line that the people of India would not tolerate.
