Meerut, Uttar Pradesh – April 17, 2025
Amit Kashyap Murder News: In a horrifying tale of love, betrayal, and cold-blooded murder, a 30-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his wife and her teenage lover in Meerut’s Akbarpur Sadat village. To cover up the crime, the accused duo planted a venomous snake under the victim’s body in a desperate attempt to pass it off as a snakebite death.

The shocking incident took place in the Behsuma police station area and has left the local community stunned.
The Sinister Plan Unfolds
Amit Kashyap, also known as Mickey, was found dead in his home on the morning of April 13. At first glance, the scene pointed to a natural death — a venomous snake was lying near his bed, leading even his family to believe he had died of a snakebite in his sleep.
But the truth was far more sinister.
When the post-mortem report came in, it exposed the grim reality: Amit had died due to asphyxiation, not a snakebite. The presence of strangulation marks confirmed foul play, forcing the police to launch a deeper investigation.
The Deadly Love Triangle
According to police sources, Amit had been married to 27-year-old Ravita for eight years and the couple had three children. Amit Kashyap worked as a mason alongside a 19-year-old colleague named Amardeep — who, over time, developed an illicit relationship with Ravita.
As suspicions and tensions grew within the household, Amit discovered the affair. Frequent arguments ensued, straining the marriage. About five months ago, Amardeep stopped working with Amit Kashyap and allegedly began plotting his murder with Ravita.
A Snake for Hire
In a bizarre twist, Amardeep is said to have purchased a live venomous snake from a snake charmer for ₹1,000 — a rare and chilling element in a premeditated murder plot. On the night of April 12, once Amit had fallen asleep, Ravita called Amardeep to her home. The duo then allegedly strangled Amit to death and placed the snake beneath his lifeless body.
Circle Officer Abhishek Kumar Patel, speaking to the media, stated,
“The snake did bite the body multiple times, which initially confused investigators. However, the post-mortem results clearly indicated strangulation as the cause of death.”
Herpetologist Weighs In
Wildlife SOS herpetologist Shresatha Pachori (33) remarked that such use of a snake in a murder cover-up was highly unusual.
“Snakes don’t bite without provocation. It takes effort, sometimes expert handling, to make a snake bite even during venom extraction,” he said. “Planting a snake to confuse police is not something we’ve seen before in this region.”
He further explained that Meerut is home to species like the Indian cobra, common krait, and Russell’s viper — all part of India’s ‘Big Four’ venomous snakes.
Justice in Motion
Both Ravita and Amardeep have been arrested and are currently in police custody. Legal proceedings are underway, and the case is being closely monitored by law enforcement.
The gruesome murder has shocked the entire Meerut district, raising chilling questions about how far people can go in the name of love and deception.
