A carefully constructed digital love story that once appeared full of romance, engagement celebrations, and wedding preparations has now turned into a chilling murder investigation in Pune, where 20-year-old Siya Goyal and her alleged partner Chetan Chaudhary have been accused of killing her fiancé, businessman Ketan Agarwal, at Lohagad Fort in what police suspect was a planned conspiracy disguised as a trekking trip.

Ketan Agarwal, 26, a director and Chief Marketing Officer in his family’s real estate business, died after falling nearly 400 feet into a gorge on June 18 during a visit to Lohagad Fort. Siya Goyal initially told police that it was a tragic accident caused by a sudden slip near the edge of the fort. For a short period, the incident was treated as accidental death. However, the case quickly escalated as investigators began to uncover inconsistencies in statements, digital communication patterns, and surveillance footage.

Before the tragedy, Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal were publicly seen as an engaged couple preparing for a grand wedding scheduled in November. Their relationship was frequently displayed on social media, where Siya Goyal shared multiple posts showing affectionate moments, engagement celebrations, and romantic gestures. One widely circulated post described her feeling as if she had found “home in his heart,” while another showed Ketan decorating a car with flowers as a surprise, which Siya proudly shared online. These posts created an image of a stable and loving relationship, now overshadowed by serious allegations.

According to police investigations, however, Siya Goyal was allegedly in a parallel relationship with Chetan Chaudhary, who is now accused of being involved in the conspiracy. Authorities claim that Siya and Chetan were in continuous contact for months, with call records reportedly showing over 2,000 communications between January and June. Investigators believe this relationship developed into a plan targeting Ketan Agarwal.

A crucial breakthrough came when CCTV footage from Lohagad Fort was analyzed. It showed Ketan Agarwal and Siya Goyal walking together, while a hooded man trailed them at a short distance. Despite temperatures reaching around 33 degrees Celsius, the individual wore a hoodie and shorts, keeping his face hidden. Investigators noted suspicious movements, including repeated attempts to avoid camera exposure. At one point, Siya Goyal was reportedly seen glancing back, while the hooded figure crouched suddenly, raising further suspicion.

Police later identified the hooded individual as Chetan Chaudhary after matching his appearance with social media images and surveillance footage. This identification strengthened the allegation that he was present at the scene during the incident involving Ketan Agarwal.

Investigators also revealed that Siya Goyal had allegedly insisted multiple times on visiting Lohagad Fort with Ketan Agarwal. She had reportedly taken him there earlier as well, including on May 31, and again pushed for another visit in June. Family members of Ketan Agarwal later stated that she had also spoken about delaying the wedding at one point, though no formal concern was raised at the time.

More serious allegations emerged when police claimed that an earlier attempt may have been made on June 14, when Ketan Agarwal allegedly survived a fall attempt after holding onto vegetation. When questioned, Siya Goyal reportedly misled him by saying she had seen a snake, a claim now being re-examined by investigators as part of the suspected pattern of events.

Digital evidence has further deepened the case. Call detail records and messaging data reportedly show continuous communication between Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, often at odd hours. Investigators say the timing and frequency of these exchanges suggest coordination in the days leading up to June 18.

Family members of Ketan Agarwal have expressed shock and disbelief, stating that Siya Goyal appeared actively involved in wedding planning and showed no outward signs of distress regarding the engagement. However, they also noted earlier mentions of postponing the marriage, which now form part of the broader investigation.

Another disturbing detail under scrutiny is the reported disappearance of Ketan Agarwal’s passport shortly before a planned international pre-wedding shoot in Bali. Police are examining whether this incident was linked to efforts to disrupt or delay his plans before the alleged crime.

Following Chetan Chaudhary’s detention, investigators claim that interrogation revealed tensions within the relationship triangle, including concerns about family acceptance and the unwillingness to elope openly. Based on collected evidence, both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were arrested and charged with murder and criminal conspiracy. They remain in judicial custody as proceedings continue in a Pune court.

The case has now drawn widespread public attention not only because of the allegations but also due to the stark contrast between Siya Goyal’s earlier social media presence and the current investigation. Posts that once depicted love, engagement, and future wedding plans are now being viewed as part of a story that allegedly concealed a far darker reality behind carefully curated digital images.

As the investigation continues, authorities are attempting to reconstruct the final movements of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort, while the names Siya Goyal, Ketan Agarwal, and Chetan Chaudhary remain central to one of Pune’s most disturbing alleged crime cases in recent times.
