According to a press statement issued by the Cyberabad Police, the Special Operations Team (SOT) acted on specific intelligence inputs and intercepted the accused during a naka bandi operation near a tech park in Manchirevula, which falls under the jurisdiction of Narsingi police station. Officials said Bageerath was taken into custody at around 8:15 pm and later moved to Petbasheerabad police station for further procedures.

Police officials stated that after being brought to the station, the accused was presented before the investigation officer and examined in the presence of panch witnesses. During questioning, investigators claimed that Bageerath admitted to committing the offence mentioned in the case.

Following the interrogation, officers formally arrested him and conducted the necessary medical examination. The police added that after completing the required legal formalities, the accused was produced before a magistrate, who subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.

However, the police version has been challenged by advocate Karuna Sagar, who claims the sequence of events was different. According to him, Bandi Sai Bageerath was not detained during a naka bandi operation but was instead handed over to the police earlier at Narsingi.

The differing accounts have raised questions about the exact timeline of the arrest. While the police maintain that the accused was apprehended during a routine vehicle-checking operation, the defence suggests the custody took place earlier than stated.

As the investigation continues, authorities are expected to clarify the details surrounding the arrest and address the claims made by the defence.
