Fake Tantric ‘Monty Baba’ Arrested in Mumbai for Allegedly Exploiting Over 60 Women

A shocking case of deception and exploitation has come to light in Mumbai, where police have arrested a self-styled tantric ‘Monty Baba’ accused of sexually exploiting dozens of women under the guise of helping them conceive. The accused, identified as Rhythm Panchal, allegedly posed as a spiritual healer known among followers as “Monty Baba,” promising childless women that he could solve their fertility problems through secret rituals.

According to the Mumbai Police, Panchal allegedly targeted women who were emotionally vulnerable because they were struggling to have children. Investigators say he built trust by presenting himself as a powerful tantric who could remove spiritual obstacles preventing pregnancy. Over time, several women approached him hoping for help, unaware that they were walking into a carefully planned trap.

Police officials say Panchal used to hold his so-called spiritual gatherings at night. His “darbar” reportedly started around 8 PM and continued until early morning, sometimes until 7 AM. During these sessions, women and their families would gather, believing they were participating in spiritual healing rituals that could change their fate.

To make the rituals appear authentic, Panchal allegedly demanded unusual offerings from followers. Police say he often asked for items such as goat liver, live chickens, expensive liquor, and cigarettes. During the ritual, he would smoke and blow the smoke toward devotees, claiming he was driving away evil spirits from their bodies. Investigators believe these acts were carefully staged to convince victims that he possessed supernatural powers.

However, behind the dramatic rituals, police allege that Panchal used the situation to exploit women sexually. Many victims reportedly believed they were undergoing spiritual treatment that would help them conceive a child. Instead, authorities say the accused used the cover of religious practices to commit obscene acts.

The case came to light after complaints reached authorities and drew attention from local figures, including Siddharth Sharma, a BJP leader and advocate who helped bring the matter to police notice. After preliminary inquiries, officers from the Dindoshi Police Station moved quickly and arrested the accused.

Investigators now believe the number of victims could be higher than initially reported. Many women may still hesitate to come forward because of social pressure and fear of public scrutiny. Police have appealed to anyone who may have been affected to contact authorities and assured them that their identity will be protected.

Officials say the case highlights the dangers of blind faith and the way some individuals misuse religion and superstition to exploit vulnerable people. Authorities have once again urged citizens to seek proper medical treatment for health issues such as infertility instead of relying on unverified spiritual claims.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say they are gathering more evidence and statements from victims. If proven guilty, the accused could face serious charges related to sexual exploitation and fraud.
