Chandigarh: Haryana Police have initiated the process of issuing a lookout circular (LOC) against popular rapper Badshah after registering a case over his recently released song “Tateeree.” The move comes amid allegations that the music video contains objectionable content and portrays an inappropriate image of school environments and young girls.

Officials confirmed that the controversial song has already been removed from the singer’s official YouTube channel, while authorities continue efforts to take down related content from other digital platforms.
FIR Registered in Panchkula Cyber Police Station
According to the police, a case has been registered at the Cyber Police Station, Sector-20 in Panchkula under FIR No. 28 dated March 6, 2026.
The case includes charges under:
- Section 296 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
- Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986
According to investigators, the video allegedly shows minor girls dressed in school uniforms throwing their school bags and running away from studies. Police believe that such scenes send the wrong message to young viewers and portray an inappropriate image of school life. Officials also raised objections to certain lyrics used in the song, claiming they include words and phrases that are offensive toward women and girls.
During the investigation, authorities found that the video features a Haryana Roadways bus reportedly belonging to the Jind depot. Police are now verifying whether the producers of the music video obtained proper permission from the transport department to use the government vehicle. If it is discovered that the bus was used without official approval, action may be taken against the individuals involved for alleged criminal conspiracy.
Another part of the investigation focuses on scenes that appear to have been filmed inside a government school campus. Officials are checking whether the production team had permission from the relevant authorities to shoot at the location. If no authorization was granted, the police said appropriate action would be taken under government rules.
Haryana Police have also issued a formal notice asking Badshah to appear before investigators immediately. Multiple police teams have been formed to locate the singer and carry forward the probe. Officials said the process of issuing a lookout circular has begun because there is a possibility that the accused could attempt to travel abroad during the investigation.
Meanwhile, the controversial song has already been removed from the singer’s official YouTube channel. Authorities are also working with various digital platforms to ensure that reels, short clips and other versions of the song are removed from social media and music streaming platforms.
Police have warned that anyone found creating, sharing or promoting reels and videos related to the controversial track could face strict legal action. Officials emphasized that objectionable content on social media, especially involving minors or inappropriate representation of women, will not be tolerated and will be dealt with firmly under the law.
