Faridabad Gang Rape Case: Woman Thrown From Moving Van, Two Arrested

The woman is currently undergoing treatment at Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, where doctors are monitoring her condition closely.

Victim Was Offered a Lift Late at Night

According to police officials, the victim had left her friend’s house in Sector 23 late in the evening after a personal dispute at home. She traveled by auto-rickshaw to NIT-2 Chowk and then walked toward Metro Chowk, where she was waiting for another auto to Kalyanpuri.

At around midnight, two men driving a Maruti Eeco van approached her and offered to drop her at her destination. Trusting them, she accepted the lift — a decision that would soon turn into a nightmare.

Instead of driving toward Kalyanpuri, the men diverted the van toward Gurugram Road, police said.

Crime Committed Inside the Moving Van

Once on the isolated stretch, the accused allegedly assaulted the woman inside the vehicle. The ordeal continued for hours as they kept driving around the city. In the early hours of the morning, around 3 am, the attackers threw her out of the moving van near Raja Chowk.

The fall caused severe head injuries, but the woman managed to gather enough strength to call her sister for help. Her family rushed to the location and found her bleeding and lying on the roadside. She was immediately taken to Badshah Khan Hospital for emergency treatment.

FIR Registered, Police Launch Probe

An FIR was registered at Kotwali Police Station based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family. Since the woman remains under medical care, her detailed statement is yet to be recorded.

Senior police officials confirmed that a special crime branch team from Sector 48 was assigned to track down the suspects.

Two Accused Arrested, Van Recovered

After an intensive investigation, police arrested two men who were living in Faridabad but originally belonged to Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The Maruti Eeco van used in the crime has also been recovered.

“We have arrested both accused and are questioning them. The victim is being treated, and we are ensuring all necessary medical and legal support is provided,” a Faridabad Police spokesperson said.

City in Shock as Investigation Continues

The incident has once again raised serious concerns about women’s safety during late-night travel in the city. Local residents and women’s rights groups have called for strict action and stronger surveillance to prevent such crimes.

Police officials said further arrests or charges may follow as the investigation progresses.
