Patna, November 13 — The stage is set for the Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025, with the Election Commission of India (ECI) confirming that the counting of votes will begin sharply at 8:00 AM on Friday, November 14. The results are expected to determine the next government in Bihar after an intense two-phase polling held on November 6 and 11.

Bihar Election Results 2025: Counting to Begin at 8 AM on November 14, Says Election Commission

According to the Election Commission, the polls were successfully conducted across the state, recording an impressive 67.13% voter turnout — the highest since 1951.

Smooth Counting Arrangements Across 243 Constituencies

The ECI said elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and transparent counting process in all 243 Assembly constituencies. Each constituency will have one Returning Officer (RO) and one Counting Observer monitoring the proceedings, alongside candidates and their agents.

Over 4,372 counting tables have been set up, each staffed with a counting supervisor, assistant, and micro-observer. In addition, more than 18,000 counting agents appointed by various candidates will be present to oversee the process.

Postal Ballots and EVM Counting Schedule

The counting will start with postal ballots at 8:00 AM, followed by the EVM (Electronic Voting Machine) counting at 8:30 AM. The ECI noted that postal ballot counting will likely conclude before the penultimate round of EVM counting.

During the EVM counting process, the Control Units will be brought to the counting tables round-wise. Counting agents will verify the intact seals and serial numbers as per records in Form 17C (Part I) before the votes are tallied. The number of votes recorded in the machines will also be cross-checked with entries in the official form.

VVPAT Verification for Transparency

To ensure complete transparency, the Election Commission has mandated a VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) verification. A random selection of five polling stations per Assembly seat will be taken up for this process. The VVPAT slips will be matched with EVM results in the presence of candidates and their agents.

No Repolls Requested, Says EC

In a significant development, the Election Commission confirmed that no request for repolling was received from any of the 2,616 candidates or 12 recognized political parties. The poll body said this indicates the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections across the state.

The EC also mentioned that during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, zero appeals were made by over 7.45 crore voters included in the final electoral roll.

Model Code of Conduct Extended in Patna

Meanwhile, the Model Code of Conduct has been extended in Patna district until November 16 to maintain law and order following the declaration of results.

The District Magistrate of Patna has also imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, implementing a complete ban on victory processions in the district.

Counting for all 14 Legislative Assembly constituencies under Patna district will take place at AN College, which has been fortified with tight security.

Final Results on ECI Portal

The final Bihar election results will be compiled and made available round-wise and constituency-wise on the official Election Commission results portal — results.eci.gov.in.

The political fate of top leaders, including Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav, and other major contenders, will be sealed as counting unfolds on Friday morning.

With record voter participation, zero repoll requests, and extensive security and administrative measures, Bihar is set for one of its most decisive electoral verdicts in years. As counting begins, all eyes will be on Patna, where the next chapter of Bihar’s political story will be written.
